Internet-enabled Personal Devices
Purpose: To ensure a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment, this policy outlines the expectations regarding students bringing internet-enabled devices to P.S. 66.
Internet-enabled devices include, but are not limited to:
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- Smartwatches
- Any other device capable of connecting to the internet and enabling access to online content, including social media applications.
Use During the School Day
(7:30 am to 2:20 pm, after 2:20 pm includes after-school)
- Students are not permitted to use personal internet-enabled devices during the school day, including after school.
- Devices must remain off and stored out of sight (e.g., in lockers) during all school hours, including after school.
Security and Responsibility
- The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal devices.
- Students bring devices to school at their own risk.
