Electronics Policy

At P.S. 66, students can bring the following electronic devices to school:

  • Cell phones

  • Laptops and tablets

  • Smartwatches

 

To keep our school safe and focused on learning, we ask that students follow these guidelines:

  • All electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, laptops, tablets, earpods, smartwatches) must be turned off and kept in backpacks while in the school building.

  • Students may not use (e.g., cell phones, laptops, tablets, earpods smartwatches) anywhere inside the school at any time.

  • Electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, laptops, tablets, earpods, smartwatches) cannot be used during quizzes, tests, or exams.

  • State tests have special rules for electronics set by the New York State Education Department.

  • All electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, laptops, tablets, earpods, smartwatches) must be turned off during fire and emergency drills.

  • Electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, laptops, tablets, earpods, smartwatches) may not be used in bathrooms.

  • Students are not allowed to bring portable speakers or gaming consoles, such as Nintendo Switch, to school.
